Over 30 years of playing the Scottish harp has taken Wendy Stewart all over the world, actually and musically, and the influence of this, combined with her innate Scottishness, add up to a unique repertoire of traditional and original material. Having been taught by Jean Campbell in her native Edinburgh, Wendy went on to play in many bands where Irish, French, Scandinavian, and Welsh influences coloured her musical ideas.  She has recorded four albums with the band Ceolbeg, and three solo albums - "About Time", "About Time 2"and the latest "Standing Wave" (all on Greentrax Recordings). Now living in Dumfriesshire, Wendy is in great demand as a teacher - endeavouring above all to transmit the joys of playing. She teaches both privately and in schools and colleges, including tutoring on the BA course in Scottish Music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She is firmly established as a performer, teacher, writer and communicator of some of the finest and most enduring harp music in Scotland today.
