Harp hire
Gone for Coffee!
photo: "Gone for Coffee" Graham Alsop, Surrey 2004

We realise it can be quite a stress travelling around the world with your treasured harp. We are therefore able to offer a small number of harps for rental during the workshops.

This is through the kind support of our local harp society "Comann Chlàrsach nan Eilean". The instruments are actually those normally rented by local learners, though we borrow them for the workshops.

"Ceol Math, Daoine math, Bìadh math"

The harps are all very good 'student-quality' instruments, many made by the well-known Scottish makers Starfish Harps. They normally have 32 or 34 strings, gut-strung at the top and wire strung for the bass notes.

The cost of rental is £30 for the week, or £15 for the 3-day course. We pass this directly on to the society and it covers the rental the local learners would normally pay, together with an allowance for broken strings, lost harp keys and such like.

With increasing numbers of players travelling to the harp camps from other countries, demand on the harps is high. If you would like to reserve a harp please therefore indicate this on your booking form.
