Food & ceilidhs
photo: Barbara Schilling, California. Catering: Justin!

Included in your course fee are all lunches and coffee, tea and home-baking during breaks. This is an important part of the course and a time to relax and get to know the other players. The food in itself is also getting quite a reputation!

"We'd come again just for the food!"

"Wonderful food - the best food I've had in Scotland to date!"

A large amount of the food we serve is sourced locally. Freshly picked salads from the polytunnel at the top of the hill, or hens' eggs from the village. We also bake fresh bread each morning to have with the soups. We can cater for most dietary needs - please let us know at the time of booking.

"...quite delicious and frequent refreshments..."

Please note, we do serve lunch on the Monday at about 1pm after a short introductory session. We also provide the meal on the Monday evening before the ceilidh (see the timetable page). Any of your family members are invited to join us for that meal and ceilidh. There is no additional charge for this.

"I won't forget... hospitality, harps, food...
all beautiful!"

As you will see on the timetable page, on some evenings we have musical ceilidhs. These informal musical gatherings are a large part of each course, involving participants and their families, as well as some of our friends from the island. You will be encouraged to share in the evenings of music, song, stories and dance. Alternatively you can just sit back and watch. Please feel free to bring along any family and friends who are accompanying you on your trip - the more the merrier!

"Met good people, made good friends, ate good food,
heard great music, thank you."

In the past these ceilidhs have generated some truly amazing music, with music from all over the world.
